Default PLZ help regarding Visa

Hey everyone, I'm an IMG and I've already completed my step 1 and step 2 ck exam with good scores and I want to apply to Sep 2015 match. I'm intending to travel to the US to attend my step 2 CS exam and do an unpaid externship. The thing is, my whole family are American citizens, with my mom and two brothers currently residing in the US. I have have an immigrant visa application at the NVC and I'm expecting to get my GC in approx~5-7 months. If I want to apply for a B1/B2 visa right now, what are my chances of getting it, because honestly I don't want to waste 7 precious months (maybe more) waiting for my GC if I could be doing something to improve my chances of getting into residency in the US. Can I hide the fact that I have an immigrant visa application and that I have relatives in the US and just choose "NO relatives" in my DS-160 form or will I be getting myself into trouble.

Plz advise me

I told them everything, it basically went like this:

Me: Good morning *smile and make eye contact*
CO: Good morning to you, so why are you traveling to America
Me: I want to take my CS exam. Here's a letter from the ECFMG. I also have completed step 1 and 2 exams with high scores *showed em' to her*
CO: did you take your past exams in *home country*
Me: yes
Co: have you ever been to America before
Me: no
CO: I see your dad is an American citizen and your mom is a LPR
Me: That's correct (I also told her the status of my brothers and what they do)
CO: why Chicago?
Me: the earliest dates are available in Chicago
CO: to which countries have you traveled before
Me: ***; I finished med school from there
CO: your visa has been approved, you will receive it in the mail within a week
Me: Thanks!

hi, what visa shall we apply for in order to take the cs exam?
can someone please tell me about the J1 visa. I heard that the ECFMG sponsors it. But in what way is it better than the visitor visa when we want to give cs exam and also do observership.
