Info required to go home for 2 years after finishing residency?

Hi guys!

Today I read that IMGs have to go back home for two years after they finish their residency OR spend two years as a doctor in underprivilged areas of the US.
Can anyone explain this? Is it true?
Is there a link explaining?

If you are sponsored on J1 Visa then it's true.

For more information click the J1-Visa tag link at the bottom of this thread.

if we complete, the 2 yr home country rule, then can we apply for a job in US after those 2 yrs.?? and if yes what are the chances of getting a job. nd would it be on H1b visa. i am asking this cuz, we have cleared our step3 , nd would b board certified by the end of residency....

Your chances would no different from any other doctor applying for a job in USA.

The H1B visa wouldn't be an issue and you can easily get it.

The chances are very high that you'll get a job.
