Default B1/B2 Visa Application put under 221(g) administrative processing

dear usmle-forums readers nd patrons,

i had applied for a b1/b2 visa, my interview date was on the 13th of january, chennai, india, my interview went well, infact the interviewer told me, everything looks approvable, however i hve to go to another desk, nd she hands me this pink slip wit 221(g) written on it... d lady at d desk took a few questions, nd informed me it myt tke at least 4 to 6 weeks for "administrative processing"...

now my problem is, i had told the lady i was giving my step 2 cs exam on june 18th... but 2 days back, lik, i had been applying randomly to a few universities for observerships, and 1 of dem informed dey had a slot in march... so i m thinkin of even giving d step 2 cs xam in march...

m worried... sum of d ppl who wer put for admin. processing hvent got their visas for lik 3 or 4 months now... what shud i do?? shud i inform my change of plan?? wil dat help?? m worried abt losing that observership nd valuable clinical experience wit a chance of a lor... plz advise... thank you nd God bles...
