Default Islamabad Visa Experience

Lot of people helped me by posting their visa experience so I wanted to do the same.
I had my interview yesterday at Islamabad embassy. The interview lasted about 3 minutes. Here are the questions:
1- Why do you want to go to USA?
2- Why did you chose Houston?
3- Who is supporting you?
4- He asked me about my father's business sine he is supporting me. Asked couple of questions about number of employees working for him, bit of details about nature of work. I think (rightfully) it helped me a lot because I was able to provide details.
5- Tell me about your family. What do your siblings do? I told him about my siblings including my sister who is a US Citizen and is a doctor in USA. I was worried that this may go against me but obviously not.
After this question, he said your visa is approved. He did not look at a any documents. I had folders full of documents, labeled and ready to go. I had been practicing speaking english for last two months with my relatives in USA so I think that helped me converse easily. The person in front of me (also applying for CS visa) kept saying: "sorry" "sorry" because he was having tough time communicating. Not sure if he got his visa but practicing english was helpful.

In my happiness, I forgot to ask the length of visa! I guess I will find out soon enough.

As for my background, I had north of 220 on Step 1, Step 2 CK was taken but I am still waiting for my score. I have a job at a small hospital in Lahore and graduated from SIMS.

Good luck to every one. The process was very stressful but the result was good!

nobody can truly say. it's conceivable that you'll experience critical postponements under Authoritative Handling even after a meeting happens. it might likewise rely on upon exactly what kind of foreigner visa you are applying for. On the other hand, you can expect a deferral of a while regardless.

Ideally, you want to complete Step 1 and CK before applying. This shows that you are serious about the exam. Of course, there have been incidences where visa has been granted for people without even taking Step 1 and CK.

In the end, it's all about showing that you have strong ties to Pakistan and you are planning to return. For me, I was working but my father was sponsoring. The interviewer focused on my father's work and what speciality I wanted to pursue.
It also helped that I only spoke in English at home for two months before my interview. This helped me communicate easily with the VO. Another candidate in front of me was having lot of trouble communicating. So you have to show confidence, be prepared and if you have a genuine case then there is no reason for them to deny you.
I received multiple entry, 5 year visa.
Good luck.

I only said 3 weeks. Anything more, they are going to wonder why do you need to stay there for 6 months when the exam is for only 1 day. For 3 weeks because I need to get two weeks early to get use to the system in America. In the end, I was given 5-year multiple.

At the minimum, if issues, visa is likely to be at minimum for one year, so why ask for six months and raise potential flags.
