Default visa interview on 27th feb in Islamabad embassy

iam an img from lhr pakistan writing my interview experience and hoping tht it helps ppl.

i applied and got my interview call on 27th feb...went to the embassy at 630 was the first one to appear in front of the Visa officer..she was very polite and courteous and had a smiling face tht helped me to calm my nerves.her questions were.

1why do u want to go to USA
2have u given any steps before?and why r u giving CS before CK??
3where do u want to go?(state)
4Why this state and not other
5when did u graduate
6what have u been doing since then
7who will support u
8what does ur father do
9how many sisters and brothers do u have
10why are u giving steps

Her closing remarks were....ur application seems fine but passport will have to undergo administrative clearance and tht can take up to months but hopefully ull get it before ur test date....

she only checked my step 1 score and my medical school records...nothing else..

my advice..
1while filling the application be sure to have it overlooked by some one who has already filled it

2If u are a graduate (passed out) by all means u shud be employed......greater risk of rejection if u r not employed

3Be very very very confident u dont have nothing to hide u r a doctor who legitimately wants to go to USA to give an exam which u have paid for....so by all means be firm but dont be aggressive just be polite

4answer every question to the point and precisely no marks for filling sheets

5dont sound desperate

6make a list of questions u think u can be asked and have appropriate answers for each of them

P.S ppl wanting to apply in islamabad embassy shudnt hesitate and do it at once because from what i saw they were giving visas to ppl with genuine reasons and all the V.O's were very nice.

why this state?
At the time of my application seats were available in this state.

Why r u giving steps?
To get ecfmg certification which will not only help me to get a residency bt also help to further my prospects when i return home(answer to this is really variable everyone has his own opinion and i suggest u visit umartariq.com and read visa experiences there)
hope this helps (:

Thanks alot for the reply! I have more questions though.
Are you doing any job or something like that? Did you have any documentation for that? Like usually people say one should have a document from the employer stating one's job and all. Plus are you engaged/married? Its counted as a strong tie and the general belief is that its hard for single guys to get a visa. Thanks again!
