Question Can I bring my cellphone to embassy?

Hi all:

I just make an appointment with embassy for interview, but because I am going there alone, I wonder can I bring my cellphone with me to the visa office? The agent who made appointment by phone told me that I am not allowed to bring any electronic stuff. But I really think it does not make sense.

Can someone tell me what to do?

Thank you!

hi, idk if the protocols are different per country but the embassy in nigeria wouldnt let you in with cell phones even mirrors, dont know what they think you will do with a mirror esp since their officers are barricaded behind ?plexiform glass, lol butthen again you cant really blame them, they have to put their safety first!
they allow you leave your things with their security.
all the best with your interview and step 2 CS!

Hey Chienpolska,

There is a list of things you are not supposed to have with you when you are going to any US embassy or consulate:
food and beverage, gun and explosives, any electronic devices including cellphone, large purse and camera and...
Every embassy or consulate have a section for keeping ur cellphone while you are inside, though!

...So you can bring ur cell with u. But u need to declare it at the doorway and take a number instead. They will give it back to u when u are leaving the embassy.
