You are going to be denied entry if you do not have a return ticket. They will grill you like anything at the port of entry. Also you should have a letter of invitation or something from the place you are going to go n work. They need to know what you are going to do here & when you are going to leave. If you don't satisfy them you might not be allowed to enter. So plan everything carefully before coming to the US.

Doctor Vaibhavmanu can you please clarify this case, as this is really confusing me. I am about to go for CS (for which i will tell VO i only stay for 1 month), but after that i want to do some observership (havent had any proven paper). So if i book my flight ticket 3-4 months later, will port of entry officer notify this discorrelation between my visa interview and my flight back ticket and refuse of entering the US?? And how to persuade the port of entry officer to give me time more than just 1 month (which i fill in DS 160 form)? Please kindly reply, i really need your experience because lack of preparation may cause detrimental effect to my plan. Thank you so much and best regards
