Passport CS Exam Date and Visa Processing

guys, my CS exam is on the 28th November ( last day of my 1-year eligibility period ), today was my visa appointment and i went into administrative processing,

it was written on the paper, wait from 3 days up to 6 weeks. the thing is i have only 5.5 weeks to go till the exam?

hopefully i get the visa in a shorter duration, but to be cautious,

can i extend the eligibility period if the administrative processing is still going on? shall i contact ECFMG from now or what?

Default My thoughts

In my personal opinion I would contact them just to be on the safe side to see if they would even allow it. Also ECFMG can take a long time to get things done so better earlier than later. Best of Luck and hope you get everything fast so you do not have to wait!

state this reason, get your CS registration cancelled and apply again (they will refund the money). If you don't get the visa on time, you will lose a whole lot of money and there is NO extension. I am sure about this because i cancelled the registration after my visa was rejected and applied again. Call ECFMG and ask them the procedure to cancel registration.

thanks for the reply, but how can i apply for cancellation while my visa status is still under administrative processing, my visa isn't rejected, it is just under further processing that might take time? what do u think?

tell them that the embassy people said 6 weeks but you have only 5 weeks till the exam. So the time will not be sufficient to travel and take the exam on the scheduled date. You have to call ecfmg and explain and later they ask you to send a fax to them explaining the reason along with any document the embassy might have provided as proof of administrative processing.

Default update

well, i thought i update the thread to give it a closure....

Thank God i got the visa after 10 days of administrative processing....
the thing that i noticed is that almost 90% of all the males who were infront of me in the line got admin. processing while females were granted the visa on the spot

just keep optimistic and have Faith in God....good luck everyone

Wink well

well, as i said b4, according to my experience and my friends' experiences , which all are in American embassy of Cairo-Egypt.....most females get the visa easier than males, but i have seen some rejections in females too, but this isn't the role
i am planning to take my exam enshalla in Houston in July too

good luck
