B1 Visa B1 Visa for Volunteer Research?

Hey guys,
I just wanted to know If you can Do Unpaid/Volunteer research in an American university for upto 6 Months on a B1 Visa?

Another question - Suppose I land at New York/Atlanta with a B1/B2, should I tell the immigration officer that my intention is to do research or that I'm just waiting for interview calls?

never tell the immigration people that ur der for some research be and act like a tourist just do your work and come back

do you mean if we go for cs even then we should tell immigration people we are tourists.

no it depends on the visa you have....if u on a visiting visa just act n be like a tourist thats wat I meant

You can use the visa letter for CS. That works perfect.
