Passport got selected for elective at havard but still a problem?

I have been selected for a clerkship at Harvard and I'll have to go there on a b1/b2 visa?

Is it possible that my visa gets rejected even after I show them my confirmation letter? what all documents do I need to carry with me and what sort of questions should I expect them to ask me.....also my visa got rejected once 5 yrs back when I had planned on going for a vacation with my family....I am very nervous plz help!!!!

It depends on the country you are resident in and how difficult is the consulate office there.

Usually they refuse a Visa when they think that you are unlikely to return (such as going with your family as you did before).

If you prove to them that you got so many assets in the country where you stay (like a house, a family, a large bank statement, a great job, ...etc) they usually give you the Visa.

This is of course if there are no other security issues that nobody can help yo with.

So the documents you need to take in addition to the Harvard letter are those that prove the above.

hi
Congratulations
May I ask a question ?

What did u do to apply for an elective at Harvard and what did it cost ? fees/tuitions and housing and expenses , I mean the total cost since I am interested in doing surgery rotations there ..
I heard that an elective taken at Harvard will make your chances for a categorical ( not prelim. ) position go high which is almost always hard for an IMG , is that right ?

Sorry if my question is irrelevant to the topic .

Thanks
