J1 Visa J1 Visa question

I got a question, ECFMG can give you a J1 visa to get the official USCE but the requirement is that it is for 1 year strict.

What if someone gets that visa, works 6-7 months and then gets accepted into residency and decides to change their visa again?

Any of you guys have any opinion?

The only thing about J1 visa is that it can't be changed to H1 right away. Otherwise the new job aka residency makes you eligible for continuing on J1.

Was inpatient and called ECFMG.

Just in case if smb comes across this - ECFMG J1 is valid for 7 years only, and you can change your fields of work within first 2 years, after that - you are bound.

Hey all. I have a question regarding J1. My fiance and I are planning to apply for the 2016 match. The problem is he is a green card holder while i only have the tourist visa. My question is if he sponsers me for green card it will take around 2 years for my green card process. Maybe longer. I really want to apply this year. If my green card application is in process which category do i apply u under for the match? Secondly if i dont apply for green card straightaway can i apply for J1? Or would i not be considered eligible for it since im married to a green card holder and so they may see me as unlikely to return to home country
