Question Is Step score necessary before applying for US Visa for Step 2 CS

Hi

I want to apply for US visa for Step 2 CS. I haven't given any Step exams yet. I am already a graduate, and i work right now. I want to give the exams after coming back to India.

In the forum I have seen people say that its better if you have at least Step 1 score before applying for Step 2 CS visa.

If in case the counseller asks if i have taken step 1, can I say I have. Will they know if i am lying. I mean will they check prometric and ecfmg. Or do i have to submit any document of my score when i am applying for the visa.

Pls help.

There is no such thing. Even if they ask, just say no. It doesn't matter to them if you have taken step 1 or not. The only thing they care about is your non immigrant intent. You have to convince the officer that you have very strong ties with your home country and you have to come back. Use whatever documents you can to prove this.
And most importantly, never lie to the visa officer. They are very smart people. If you tell them that you have taken step 1, they will definitely ask for some proof. So don't lie to them. Just be honest.

Thank you very much for the reply.

I have been working in a hospital here for some time.

And all the family assets we have is on my name, so that should be a strong reason for them to come back, what do you think ??

Personally, I intend to come back, within a month or two.

Thanks

That's great. Just make an affidavit declaring whatever assets you have here. get a NOC letter from your boss.
