Cool Got B1/B2 for 10 years today!

Hey guys,

I got my passport back today by courier. I had applied in my hometown of Delhi. My interview was on the 18th and i'll just say that it was the most horrible interview that could ever take place. I was really worried in the past 2 days as i was sure i wouldn't get a visa more than 6 months or maybe a single entry even. But in the end it all turned out to be good & i'm thankful to God that i won't have to go through this again till i get my work visa.

I'm sorry but i'm too lazy(& short on time) to type the whole experience here but i'll do my best to answer any questions you might have.

Cheers,

Vaibhav

First of all congrats a hurdle cleared.
But couldn't understand horrible in what sense.
Did you applied for the visa to take the CS or for an elective?

thanks

sorry i've not been on here since the day i posted my post.. been really busy..

Horrible in the sense that i was thoroughly grilled and the VC had refused to give me visa at one point.. But thank God i was able to convince her somehow.. She fetched her colleague from the next booth n discussed about my situation.. Just glad it's over..

I applied for the visa just like that.. so that i don't get any problems later on.. and now i won't

Thumbs Up U done it !

hii dude..
cheers and good luck to you in future .
your experince is same as mine but the final outcome was different.
I convinced her on all points . my interview was in hyd just -2 -3 days after USA victory .
I was married , working in reputed psu , self financing etc.
she went inside talked to her colleague and came back and said visa cannot be issued at the present time.
i should have convinced her like you , but i stopped there . maybe i Thought it would be going too far !
I just only asked the reason and she said . I shuld get step 1 score .

should I reapply and convince the officer ?
if yes is it better to reapply in hyd or say in delhi or chennai.
or wait for step 1 score which may be in aug !
pls reply soon . its Urgent !!

Warning! Don't Rush

Hi there,

First of all you need to realize that whatever you say to them goes on record. So if she refused you visa and told you to get the step1 scores, you have to do that. otherwise you won't get the visa n will get rejected again.

Also get good scores or you might be refused. One of my friends wasn't given a visa with step 1 scores (her's were arnd 90) & was told to get 95+ in ck or she won't get the visa. she did n she got it easily.

And yeah in respect to the place, i don't know whether it matters so much or not. but from what i've seen n heard. Delhi has the minimum number of rejections & mumbai has the maximum.

In a nutshell, My advice is to get a good score in Step 1 & go demand a visa dude

Correct Answer hi

Hi , Thanks for the advise. I felt exactly the same while listening to her. Hence did not feel the need to convince her. Aiming high score. Gods grace .
