Stop Links to Pirated Materials will no longer be tolerated

Dear USMLE Forums members and visitors,

We noticed in the recent months an increase in the number of posts advertising the sale of pirated materials such as Kaplan Medical, Doctors In Training, USMLE World products and others. In addition, there are members who are referring other members to download links from bit torrents and online piracy websites.

Here at USMLE Forums we take copyright infringement very seriously. Therefore, any such posts referring to download sites or to piracy websites will be deleted and users will be giving a warning and then a ban if they repeat the action. We have updated our copyright policy and forum rules document to reflect the new changes.

This is in addition to our existing policy where we immediately delete content once we get a notification from the copyright holder. This means will be more proactive and we'll even won't tolerate external links to pirated materials (not just content uploaded to USMLE Forums website).

We'll also gradually delete old posts that have been previously posted before and meet the criteria mentioned above.

If you have a collection of used books or materials that are legal to be resold, you can put your announcement in the Items for Sale forum but you cannot refer members to piracy websites and pirated materials.

We also ask you (the members and visitors) to help us by reporting any such posts immediately.

Please comply with these new guidelines, it's for your own protection.
