Announcement USMLE Forums Goes Mobile without TapaTalk

Dear members,

We have activated our mobile website today and we hope it will provide satisfactory experience and functionality to our mobile members and visitors.

TapaTalk App:
USMLE Forum no longer support the Tapatalk app for any platform including iPhone, iPad, Android, and other mobile devices. If you have been using Tapatalk before you will notice that our forum is no longer accessible.

How to Access the Mobile Website:
Just point your smartphone device browser to our website and you will be automatically redirected to the mobile version. We recommend that you use the full website if your mobile device screen is wider than 8 Inches such as a tablet like the iPad.

Switching between Full Website and Mobile Website:
If you are on the mobile website, you will see that there is a link to the full website at the top and bottom of every page. Likewise, if you are on the full website and you want to go to our mobile website, you will see there is a link at the footer section of every page.

What you can do in the Mobile Site:
You can still log in to your account and post replies and start new threads and check your private message and send PMs to others, check new posts, navigate tags and forums, and other important functions.

Bugs and Issues:
We have been testing the mobile site for the last one month and we fixed many issues, however if you find problems please let us know, reply to this thread and we'll fix it.

Thank you for supporting USMLE Forums.

Sincerely,

StepTaker

Thanks Taker but I believe you need a charger! 28% won't do good for usmle-forums navigation, at least you gotta be fully charged

Why would you want to remove tapatalk support. Are there technical issues that I can't understand or are you guys planning to launch your own mobile app? It just seems like an unnecessary inconvenience to use the browser as opposed to an app. Ive been using this site with tapatalk for over a year now.

We apologize for the inconvenience. We had to move away from Tapatalk.
There has been several vulnerabilities with the Tapatalk app that has compromised our members privacy and security.
In addition there are features that are popular with our members such as the "Thanks" button that are not supported by Tapatalk.
We are not planning to launch an app at this time as we believe this mobile site will suffice for our mobile users. If you are using an iPhone, you can add the website to your home screen for quick access.

Dear abbas,
This is not an app and it's not specific for any mobile device.
It's a mobile website that can be accessed using any mobile device including Android devices, just use your device browser to go to the website and you will see it.

Well, it's been a while now, Tapatalk have been updated and some changes made, so I'm wondering if there is a chance that you guys can go back and try or add this great forum to tapatalk again. I, as many others I'm sure, appreciate the efforts to activate a mobile website but also believe that the experience is not near as convenient or complete as the one we can have from a specific mobile app like Tapatalk or any other.

So, is there at least a small chance that you guys will take another look and maybe considering readding the forum?

Thank you very much for all the great job you do here. Have a good day!
