Default Columbia University Research/Writing Workshop for IMGs

Developmental Neuroscience lab at Columbia University is offering an opportunity for exceptional IMGs to engage in a neuroscience research and writing workshop. The lab does translational neuroscience research which encompasses both clinical trials as well as basic science research. This is an excellent opportunity for IMGs to strengthen their CV with experience as well as publications. The cost of the workshop is $7500. The duration the workshop is two months. Please send a CV and letters of reference to Amir Levine, MD at developmentalneuroscience@gmail.com

Wow 7500 seems expensive coming from a gmail account, for a topic that you can find free in YouTube. An will not give you any advantage in the residency application process

You can check out the doctor's credentials if you like. And research is the unspoken requirement of many university programs as of now. (It definitely gives you an edge/preference over those who don't have any research experience). The doctor is using gmail so that he can screen good applications and CVs. There's no money to be paid upfront. It's only if you are interested and decide to start working with him. Maybe then you can get in touch with him on his "non-gmail" account.
