you have good scores. try doing some volunteer work or some research so you have some advantage over other applicants and you will definitely get into elective programme. I believe you still have an year before you apply right?

Hi, my TOEFL score is 100, with Reading 25 Listening 27 Writing 25 and SPeaking 23. Is it good enough to apply for Mayo ? Cos the fee is high, I dont want to waste my money if I dont stand a chance to apply there

HI! I got accepted at Rochester. My TOEFL was 119 though.
Honestly, it's hard to say for sure. If your step 1 is good, I would still apply and take my chances.

Hi, congrats! Your TOEFL score is striking...
May I ask for which period were you accepted and when did you receive your confirmation from Mayo? I am applying to Mayo with step1 254 and TOEFL 108.
Your reply would be important to me and thx a lot!

Default mayo clinic application (july 1 deadline)

Has anyone who sent their application for the period October-December 2016 gotten any acceptance/rejection letters/emails from Mayo Clinic? According to the website, they will inform us of the results 6 weeks after the deadline, and it has already been 8 weeks since then. My hope has pretty much dwindled by now, but I wish I'd get a rejection email at least, so I could focus on other applications.

Has anyone else heard from the program already?

You should definitely apply for Mayo. I got accepted in Gastro with a Step 1 score 245 and TOEFL score 111 in November. Go for it.

Congratulations! You are accepted by mayo Rochester and cleveland? That's huge.
I applied to mayo arizona... wondering if I made the wrong decision... because people say arizona campus is nothing to rochester campus, and it seems so... by the way, I know that a guy with step1 261 got rejected by mayo rochester, I don't know why, he doesn't know why.
Thank you anyway!

Guys, did you upload insurance coverage before your acceptance?

"Insurance Coverage

International students must have minimum personal health insurance coverage of $50,000 in U.S. dollars. Please upload a copy of your personal healthcare insurance information."

Yes I think you can cancel the policy in case you are not accepted.

Thanks. Also, my school only has 20 weeks of electives total, Mayo clinic requires that you have done 20 weeks of electives before the elective start date (I would only have 16). Has anyone been accepted under similar circumstances? Technically I have 56 weeks of clerkships and 20 weeks of electives, so maybe one makes up for the other?

Well, if I remember correctly it states "Patient care experience" or something like that and not "electives" so I guess the clerkships are also included cause you care for the patient during clerkship or clinical postings as well.

There is a brief mention to "20 weeks of electives", but it's not very clear:

"Completed approximately 48 weeks of actual patient care clinical experiences before the start of the clerkship — six to eight weeks each of medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and surgery, and 20 weeks of electives (verification by your medical school is required)"

It could be that all that is required is the "approximately 48 weeks of actual patient care". If that's the case I should be fine, if not I am wasting 350 bucks. Well, I guess I'll try, I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Just an update, For those who are wondering, i had applied to Mayo Arizona and got rejected! was super pissed. It was a blank rejection mail," thank you for applying and unfortunately we r not able to offer you a position" and they sent me this mail twice in a span of 4 weeks. and for those who want to know when i got the rejection, it was approx 25 days after deadline. So even a good score might not be enough to bag this mayo elective guys. keep that in mind. Apply everywhere! ALL the best!!
