Default Extending Internship!! Kindly help!!

Hey guys I am currently in final year(internship). I have already done 2 months of electives in university with 4 good LORs (all during my internship). My internship completion date is May 2015. But I want to extend my internship to do more electives in sep-oct 2015. I am planning for step 1 in Jan 2015. So i will apply with step1 score.

So, I am taking few months off from internship to prepare well for step1 and as well as for shifting my date of internship. And before going for elective I will complete my internship as well as Step 2CK.

I will also give CS during electives and I also have offer of an high end research(J1) which I am planning to continue just after my electives and CS. After that I will come back to my country and will get my degree and will apply for match.

but all this will lead to shift of my date of graduation from 2015 to 2016.

Is this a big problem???
as i have everything to exlplain(what i was doing during this 1 yr extension). And this extension is not due to any failure in my med school board exam, because I have already passed them in first attempt.

Thanks guys!!

if you are from India i guess you are aware of the fact that internship need to be completed within a period of 2 years as per the guidelines of MCI.
rest your plan looks absolutely perfect and ideal.
principal of my college would never allow these many months off from internship.
