Magnacarta,

You will want to obtain the experiences that will allow you to fill in any potential gaps or breaks between the time that you graduate from medical school and when you begin residency. The option that allows you to obtain the most patient exposure over an extended period of time would be your best choice. I hope this helps if you have any further questions, PM me.

Hello magnacarta,

I am sorry for the extremely delayed response, and I am sorry that we have dropped the ball on promptly answering members' questions. Yes, a longer commitment would be much more beneficial than a short-term one. A 1 month experience is not sufficient in demonstrating how serious of a candidate you are, and you definitely want to strive to exceed expectations and avoid doing the bare minimum.

Sincerely,
Emerald
