Question Timing of USCE

hi...im in a dilemna here.
i ws preparing step 1. ws jst a few weeks in and since im a topper in colg i knew ill get 260+. bt the problem is i dont have any usce. and i wanna get into obgyn or better...nothing less.
i wanted to ask that if i do my usce in janurary 2013, will it count for the 2013 match? please reply asap as my prep is at a halt bcoz of this confusion...and how many chances an img will get into obgyn with just great scores and one publication.?

No it won't help because typically you apply for and attend interviews at the end of 2012 when go for March 2013 matching
