Help Positive PPD test and US clinical rotation

Hey guys,Iam an international student that will be doing my clinical electives at US next month.

The university who accepted me required a PPD test to be done.

I did it and induration was (12 mm).
I did Chest X-ray and was negative.

N.B: I took BCG vaccine many years ago.

So do you think they will consider it as a "latent TB" and will require me to start on medication??

I think if the PPD test is positive, you need a recent negative CXR.
A PPF Test can be positive for a number of different reasons. If you had the vaccine many years ago, that's probably not the reason for the positive test.

The best thing is contact the University where you are doing the elective and ask about it.
Also, the health documentation that you have to fill out might say something (like PPD Skin Test result: ___, CXR if PPD is positive: ___)

You will be considered to have latent TB.

You will be asked to take INH pills once every day for the next 9 months.

They cannot reject your rotation because of that. But they'll ask you to take the treatment.
