Question BIDMC clinical research volunteer?

I have managed to secure a volunteer clinical researcher position at Beth israel deconess medical center ( teaching hosp of harvard med school) . Its in anesthesia department but i plan to go for IM residency. what do u guys suggest should i avail this opportunity or look for some observerships in IM. is this research going to improve my chances in 2013 match?

How did you apply for this research position? Can you give any detail info, please.

My uncle is in the same department at BIDMC. He told me to do observership in IM as that would help much more and just in case nothing worked out for me, I could come over there anytime. But gladly it did!
So do try to do something in IM as your first choice. Good luck!

thanx vaibhav for your valuable advice. how do you see radiology research ? i mean is it relevant to IM? at this time i have no opportunities in IM but have research opportunities in anesthesia or radio. which one do you suggest I should go for?

dr whiz... search programs websites and send emails to professors, associates or assistants. it needs a lot of effort but you'll get a few responses in a week or two. good luck

See.. Both are different from IM.. So it won't matter where you go.. The main thing you should look at is what will you get out of it.. Bcoz if your research doesn't get published, then there is no point doing it!

P.S - ill go for radio if I had the choice
