ObGyn Choosing between these two ObGyn Rotations!

Hi guys, I am planning to apply for OB&GYN residency. I am IMG and got a step1 score 236.
I have a question about the LOR, it is very difficult to get a clinical rotation.
I can get a Clinical Rotation in Family Medicine in a Clinic that the 80% of patients are pregnant women. I can also get an observership in a former OBGYN service in a hospital. What should I choose?? I don't know how do they qualify your LOR. I am alrerady a OBGYN in my country and I don't know what is the best US medical experience.
What do you think? I hope you can help me finding out what's best.
Tanks!!

Hi
Although the new trend PDs are preferring is doing observerships in ACGME certified programs, however any USCE can be of benefit in varying degrees. Dealing with pregnant women in FM practice is an important part of prenatal care and doing USCE there will be a positive thing in your application especially that you are already an OBGYN doc in your home country. Also this rotation will help you when you apply to FM as back up, as you know OBGYN is very competitive, so my advice would be to do this rotation and apply to both obgyn and FM in September.

Hello Diego!
I am also interested in applying for ObGyn residency but in 2013, because I am still studying for Step 1 exam. Can you please tell me where did you find the Clinical Rotation? That means you will have a "hands on" experience right? Are you currently living in USA? Maybe we will keep in touch! Good luck with everything!
