Default Personal statement & residency application

Hello everyone,
I have received few e mails regarding writing a personal statement and suggesting companies so I thought it's better I post here so everyone can read it as well. I have 2 years of applying experience and each year has been different.
1. Avoid Google search (medfools) it tells a life story but nothing much relating to being a doctor or being inspired by something. Totally avoid it. That was my first year experience by the way.
2. Another first year experience, IMG residency, Horrible, they just seek money, I was applying late they told me it is OK. noooo it is not OK to apply in November. They told me they are creating some pathetic web page for me and will e mail it to all program directors.. Being in the system I know no program directs look at the application a day before or day of the interview.
They made a huge mess of my personal statement. Most of it was in polish English.
3. Send year experience included, americlerckships and Chicagoclerckships (Lori I guess that was her name she did a fine job)
1 page simple statement was written by, on to the point, I liked it. 2 statements were written 1 from Chicago clerckships (included with their placement package) and one from stepahead (paid $100) I used stepahead one for the application and gave Chicagoclerckships one to someone I knew.

Do not spend $200 on here and there companies. See if you can come up with something. AMA has perfect example of what should be written in PS.

Hope it helps.
