Most colleges have these block dates during only which they will accept students for electives for eg: take LSUHSC, Shreveport, the 2012-2013 block date begin from July2,2012 and ends on may 17,2013. if you want an elective in Jan/Feb/march of 2013 the ideal time to apply at-least 6 months prior ie June, July and august,2012 respectively.
so to say, there is a season to apply for the elective, but electives are offered throughout the year. hope this helps!
