India Background verification procedure in India

Well the procedure of background verification and criminal record check is some rigorous process and i almost tore my hair through trying to get hold of it but found so little source in internet unlike all other things..I then went up and spent time myself to do it and know the process. Its the Indian way of procuring this PCC and i hope it will help some fellow indians going for electives later.
Well first of all This certificate is termed PCC (I never knew it was of such name and related PCC only to passport verification )..First Visiting the local Police station and they told me to contact The Deputy commissioner of Police(DCP) who handles this matter. Went to that office where DCP visits and met him with all my documents (passport, rationcard, PAN card, Birth certificate, marksheet of class 10- latest MBBS mark sheet, College I card, pass book of my bank, voter i card of mine and father's, brocheure of the university which i am applying).
The DCP was amiable man, and after looking through the brocheure called for his subordinate to help me out this process and since the form called for 1 year background check virtually stated the clerk to give a 1 year background check (they normally issue 6 months background check). The clerk really respected me and said to me to add only two things that i brought with me: electricity bill and telephone bill (recent) as an address proof. He gave me a form and told me to fill it and attach 3 rs 100 notes with it and in the form there is a place for writing the note number too.
I visited a week later with all required stuff. Met DCP again and clerk just took it and issued me a forward letter which i needed to give to local police station and touted as the matter as urgent.
Two days later police came in to verify and took another copy of all enlisted things said above and calling me to PS the day after thus completing the process of verification and sending in the record to DCP..hoping now that they send the correct words..but thats the whole process and it really took me 1 month whole to complete it (still need to go to DCP's office to collect the certificate)
