Question Yale elective support from faculty member

I am going to apply for an alective at Yale University in June next year. I plan to take Step1 in February so right now I have to apply without a Step1 score, but I do have a huge research and electives background (also in the USA with a board certified surgeon). There's a faculty member at Yale University who supports my application and send an email to the Coordinator, does anyone know how this will increase my chances of being accepted? (Toefl score 112).

This will hugely increase your chances of getting the elective, nothing is better than an "insider" connection.
