Question 4 externships or 2 observerships +2 externships

heyy guys ,
so as we need 4 lors to apply for residency
and i am a graduate ...
so observerships and externships are the only options for me..
to find externship is difficult because i dont find any externship oppurtunities in the university website ..
so now observerships they are available ...
so my question is should i take 4 externships from paid extenship companies and get 4 lors ..
or do 2 observerships and 2 externships ...as observerships are not hands on so they are counted as not so worthy lors ..
so what do i do ..
i am an img ..graduated in dec 2012...currently preparing for step2 ..intend to apply for sep 2014 for matchin in march 2015

any help is appreciated...

Default Observerships can become Hands-On

Hey Divya!

Try doing observerships. Once the physicians get to know you, they might let u examine the patient and write the patient note, which in essence is Hands-On! And of course, LoR can always say externship.
Paid externships are a waste if u can get observerships like the ones I just mentioned. Are u in San Jose now?
