Listening Cook County versus Mayo Clinic!

I am an IMG in my 4th year of medical school and am hoping to go into Emergency Medicine. I got accepted to do an elective in Trauma Surgery at Mayo Clinic and at Cook County for the same month.

Which place do you think it is better to go to? Mayo has a great name behind it, but Cook County is known for its Trauma facilities. Since I want to go into Emergency Medicine I can't decide which place will give me more experience/chance of good LOR.

Did you rotate at Cook County? If so, how was your experience?

@CAgirl

I am also interested in EM, and it's so nice to see someone else who is interested! If I may ask, how did you go about organizing your elective? I need to get on doing that in a couple of months, and I would SO appreciate your advice!
