Default observerships for 6 months

hello doctors,
i do have CS exam in july enshalla then i will be doing 5 months observershipss till december, since this is my first visit to states, i would love to ask, is it ok to tell the officer at the portal of intery ( Dulles airport, Wash. DC) that i want to stay for 6 months because i do have observerships?
some friends told me you shouldn't max ur stay on b1/b2 visa??? why? i do have proof of doing observership during this period?

plz can anyone help me regarding this matter??

another question, does it make a difference between JFK or Dulles airport to get 6 months stamp, or there is no difference?

Hi, I must confess I'm new to this too. But what I've been told by seniors who have completed their observerships in the US is that the best way to go about it is to be honest with the officers at the port of entry. There have been instances when people were allowed to stay for just a month or two because they failed to mention the fact that they intended to gain clinical experience and instead claimed they were just there for the CS exam. Plus you have proof of having gotten an observership so that should definitely help. I hope someone who has a better idea about this helps you soon
