Question Dr. Jaddou Clinic Externship

Hello all,

Dr Neil Jaddour offers hands-on clinical experience @ $650 per month. Its a private clinic setting but still its too cheap to be believable. Any reviews about that?? Anyone ever tried him out??

It sounds reasonable and good but it has some really cumbersome pre-requisites. Also there are hardly any reviews about the program. So m dicey so as to join them or not!!

it's very expensive. too much, especially if the rotation takes place in a private clinical.

$650 for a private clinic?? Sounds like extortion to get you to see patients in a clinic as a medical assistant. PM me if you want help with externship lists

It is not a typical private clinic , it is a very busy clinic and you can have a lot of hand on clinical experience , it worth the money comparing to other institutes.

Well, looks can be deceptive. Gotta gather more information first.

Default externship

Hi!
I just finished my externship in Dr. Neil Jaddou's Clinic! This is a true externship rotation. The 2 clinics got to see 40-50 patient's per day. I learned a lot. I highly recommend it. They are also using EHR. And for the price, the cheapest in the market I should say.
Any questions, you can post it here.
Best of luck!

Default My Externship Venture with Dr.Jaddou

Ok, let me start by saying that im posting this for those IMGs who have limited knowledge about Externship in the USA. Just like everyone else, i tried online shopping for the best priced externship rotation, i had 3 comparison until i come accross Dr. Neil Jaddou Externship program. At first i was hesistant being the lowest priced in the market ( market prices ranges from $499-699/week ) and being 1,800 miles away from home ( Florida to Michigan) I was adamant, but i gave it a try. I drove for 2 days as i have difficulty driving at night and venture on my own. After reaching my destination and settling myself, I was ask to report the day after i arrived for orientation. Thank God for Tom-tom my GPS i was able to familiarize myself to the 2 clinic, which 4-5 miles apart (15mins). The Troy clinic is 4 examing rooms while the Sterling Heights is a 7 examining rooms. We see about 40-50 patients/day! Talk about stamina from sun up to sun down! But worth the learning each day. I would say that if you are interested in family practice and would like to have hands on and familiarize the US system, this is the best exposure you can get.You will learn how to handle patients from putting them to a room, doing basic test like ECG and PFT and ordering blood work for follow up on a medical problem to doing complete physical, follow ups or transition of care. Not only is Dr.Jaddou assisting and teaching you every step of the way, you will gain confidence and train your clinical eye and skills. I also gained knowldege on doing EMR ( electronic medical record) and he also taught and guide me in doing PAP smear! For the future externs, Dr.Jaddou will soon come up with X-ray and Dexa scan which i am soo jealous as i want to learn this as well . Dr. J as i called him taught us the pearls of family practice such us common medical problems, best medications and interactions as well health systems and insurances in the US.
I am thankful for Dr.Jaddou for stimulating my clinical knowledge and strengthen my confidence that we all have it in us, we just need someone to direct us. My exposure to his externship did not only gain skills and learning but also camaraderie with other medical externs, clerks and NP. I also gained a loving memory with all the patients I have met and staff who so kindly accomodate us.
I highly recommend Dr.Jaddou externship program for the best experience and best priced! if you need further information PM me Good luck to us all for the coming Match!

hello i'm about to finish my rotation @ Dr. Jaddou's Clinic in a week, so i think i can pretty much answer to the questions above. I actually had the same questions before i started the externship, but I didn't hesitate too much, because as an IMG i have to seize every opportunity.

anyway, pricewise i think it's very reasonable, $900 from the start to the end of the month, so i actually have almost 5 weeks. safety wise, it 40 mins outside of detroit, in a very nice area, close to a huge mall, which you wont have time to go cuz you will be too busy haha jk

work and teaching wise, very solid and rigorous. i would say busier than big hospitals. he accepts pts with county insurance, so large amount of patients w variety of presentations. you see patients six days a week from 8am to 5pm. by the end of the second week you will be very solid and efficient with your physical and history. one thing i like is that, Dr Jaddou is very down to earth and humble. he really respects his students. he corrects your mistakes w respect, and gives you MORE opportunity to practice and improve on your weak areas. i've done an elective in an university hospital in the US, i was never given an opportunity to have hands on. anyway, i think this externship will connect you and orient you in the US healthcare system. he enjoys teaching and likes having students.

good luck!

Looks like Dr. Jaddou has a little too much extra time on his hands even after running a clinic 'busier than big hospitals'. Dr. Jaddou, if you want to post fake reviews of your clinic please make a profile longer than at least a month and then post. Currently you joined two days ago and have only one post - that too on this thread! You're not fooling anyone, Dr. Jaddou!

Default externship experience at Dr. Jaddou's clinic

I have just finished a month externship at Dr. Jaddou's office.
There are 40-50 patients per day and lots of hands on experience.
The extern does the physical exam, assessment and presents to the attending.
There is opportunity to read X-rays. We gave immunizations, administered
PPD and did Pulmonary fuction test, EKG and Urinalysis. We were educated
in using the electronic medical record and used it on an everyday basis.
Familiarity with the EMR is quite helpful as most hospitals are using some form
of EMR. This was a rigorous rotation and in handling many patients, we were able to gain some efficiency. Overall a rigorous hands-on outpatient experience.
For the IMG aiming to get familiar with US system, there are many skills that can
be acquired on this rotation.

Dr. Jaddou is at it again!

Hmandoc also has NO posts except for the one endorsing this clinic!

I dint believe when I was told that I would get "hands on" experience with the patients. You not only get a hands on experience but from the moment they walk into his clinic till they leave you are with them through out! You can take the history, do a physical exam, come up with a diagnosis and even decide on the management! You can spend around 10 to 15 minutes with the patients before you present the case to him (extremely good before giving a CS exam).
He likes to teach and I have learned a lot from my externship. The staff is very friendly and also finds time from their busy schedule to translate for us in case we get a Chaldean or an Arabic patient.

I'm getting a little tired of posting again and again that all these people posting such awesome reviews have only a single post on this website. However it is very important to continue pointing this out because someone might get falsely convinced into taking this externship!

So, this time Dr. Jaddou has made a fake profile as 'medz' and made only one post on this website and, as you may have already guessed, that post was to endorse his clinic. Let it go, Dr. Jaddou, you're not fooling anyone.
