I asked them about the delay.... they answered that they are still processing the applications , and told me that the delay is due to high number of applicants.

These are the things they asked after online application:-
CV in English
One page personal statement addressing your interest in this program
Two letters of recommendation, see FAQs for acceptable formats
Letter of verification of enrollment in a foreign program/employment at an institution.

What if we are not enrolled in any foreign program and are unemployed?

Default Letter of verification

Hina, You have to provide letter from Dean if you are currently in medical school stating your date of graduation.

Just received their e-mail. I am accepted to do observership in Pediatric Neurology on Dec2 to Dec27. But now I am wondering if I should go. After all, it's an observership, not an elective. Any suggestions? I am supposed to give my final answer by Sep13.

Congrats! I think You should go for it unless you have been accepted to any other place. Something is better than nothing! Plus its a top notch Hospital in States.

They are not accepting applications for period 2 yet. You can re-check the website Sep 6, EST or tomorrow.

Yes exactly! It is describing yourself briefly, and to put you in a more presentable way. You can provide information about you in PS that cannot by found anywhere on your CV. First part is describing who you are and from where you hail. Second part mainly describes your education and what interests you in your field. Last part describes what you want to do in future and why are you different from others.
Its more like writing a story but of a single page.
There are few basic rules to write PS, as double spacing, bold letters etc that you can look up in google.
