Search LOR from a "fellow"

Does anyone know whether it would be appropriate to use a LOR from an IM specialty fellow, who also holds a faculty position at a different university hospital? Actually, he was the fellow of the team when i did my clinical elective rotation, and he told me that he would write a strong LOR for me, based on his faculty position that he has at a different institute.

Can I use this LOR next year when I submit my application?

Don't quote him as a fellow while requesting his LOR and tell him not to write that designation on the letter either. He should use his faculty position on the letter for it to be worthwhile. Nobody reads LORs from fellows!
