Question RN Before Med School; Would this count as USCE

Hello everyone!

I've been doing a lot of research and I've found very vague answers and this forum always has the answers. 😉

Before medical school, I was a registered nurse (RN) I'm the US. Would this count as USCE?

Thanks in advance,

Not just USCE but hands-on residency relevant work experience. Obtaining US residency relevant work experience and related LORs has become a very popular trend among residency applicants. It would also greatly benefit you for the upcoming match if you continue working as an RN preferably within a hospital that has a residency program.

Best of luck in the upcoming match.

It depends on the program you are applying for. For example, if you were a RN in the psychiatry field, and you are applying for a psychiatry residency program, then its valid. (In your personal statement you can say how much you liked working in that particular field.)

I have a friend who had a similar job at a pain clinic and she got a residency related to that field. Hope this helps.
