I did my rotation with them in May 2013 for Internal medicine in Brooklyn, NY. I'd be happy to share my experience. It was a very positive one.

What questions do you have about them, I'll try answering the best I can

Just go to the website, www.medclerkships.com The cost is dependent on the length, all the options are there on the website. Usually 2 - 2.3k / 4 week rotation.

Regarding my personal experience, it was quite pleasant. I shadowed a physician in Brooklyn, NY in his private practice as well as 3 hospitals, two of which had ACGME accredited Internal Medicine residency programs so that was a plus. Made some decent connections and got some good info about each program. And for me the most important part was getting a strong LOR on a hospital letterhead, not on the private practice's letter head. It was overall a good experience, they even offer research opportunities, I am currently working with a company that offered me a position to become a medical author in their upcoming medical review book. I got their info via medclerkships too.

So get involved, the more you work, the more people you will meet and the more it will help you in your application.

Hope this helps !

I was there just for 4 weeks during May 2013. The preceptor I had was really awesome and helpful ! He will never say no to giving a LOR. But if you want a STRONG LOR, then you have to work hard and prove your worth.

And yes, he voluntarily gives the letterhead on the hospital letterhead. You just may need to remind him, he gets very busy so sometimes needs a little nudge
