Planning guidance for scheduling exams and observership...

hi,

I am an IMG planning for 2012 match. I have done my psychiatry residency back in my home country..So doing basic sciences for step 1 is taking a long time..I am planning my step 1 around march 2011..I have following doubts

1. How should I schedule my step2CK, CS and step 3 so that I am ready for 2012 match?

2. What sort of US clinical experience should I have? I am confused whether observership would be enough? And when should I schedule it and start applying for observership?

Please guide me...I need some help....

Default Here's my suggestion

Finish Step 1 and Step 2 CK in your country before March/April 2011.

Come to USA in May 2011, Do the CS and then do USCE until the start of the season September 2011.

Do Step 3 in August/September 2011.

Externship is better than observerships but observership is better than nothing.
