Curriculum Vitae hands on experience in CV

hello everyone!
i just want to ask something
is it useful doing rotations with companies (medclerkship or chicago clerkship) as USCE in your CV?
because i heard that it is not very useful for the residency programs

What is you alternative?

I mean if you are not doing externships with these companies what are you going to do?
If the answer is continuing clinical work or clinical research or other core-clinical work then yes you don't need them.
If the answer is you are going to stay home reading USMLE and not adding anything to your CV then I guess these externship companies give you great opportunities.
