I agree Harvard clerkship LOR help!!!

Hi guys, I am an IMG currently doing my clinical electives from Harvard (Brigham and Women's Hospital) in the dept. of neurosurgery. My electives are of 4 weeks duration from 6th january to 2nd February (2014). And I have already completed 3 weeks of my rotation and the coming week is going to be my last. I think in this last week i should be asking the attendings/mentor for the LOR. Regarding this i had few queries which i would like to be answered:

1.) I dont wish to apply for residency this year and will do so next year in 2015 ( as i dont think i will be ready with all my scores by september, 2014.) As a result i do not have a AAMC ID as of now(for uploading the documents to ERAS) and wont get it before july 2015 because getting it now wouldn't make any sense. Moreover i want to get a WAIVED LOR as it has more value.

Now my question is- what should i go and tell my attending about giving me a waived LOR in july/august 2015? Because i dont think he will remember me till july next year because that's one long period of time and many students would have done rotations under him by that time or he himself may not be working anymore in that hospital by july next year?
Should i just go and request him to write a LOR for me now itself and store it somewhere safely (maybe ask his assistant to do that) so that he never forgets my name? Then when i will be applying for residency in 2015 (and get my AAMC ID etc.), i will just ask him to upload the LOR to ERAS...will that work? Will i be wrong if i ask him to do that?

2.) If i get that LOR, and use it alongwith my residency application in 2015, will it have the same value or will it be rejected because it will be more than a year old by that time? What should i do to get a current LOR? In this forum i read it somewhere that i can request the letter writer to put a current date( i.e of 2015) while uploading it to ERAS. By doing that the LOR becomes current and is not considered old. I just wanted to make sure if it is true and if it will work?

Thank you for patience and consideration. I really need some advice on this.
