Hospital Should I accept it?

I applied at 5 big names for a categorical surgery elective for the summer. Yesterday I received an email from one of them, telling me that they do not accept IMGs for their residency program. They said that I am more than welcome to come for the 4 weeks I requested but that I will not be interviewed for a residency position. And they asked me if I still want to come for the 4 weeks.
It's a really a big name hospital and I don't really understand why they wrote this to me since I just applied for an elective. Still waiting for an answer from the others but I think it will also be a positive one. StepTaker advised me to also try and get some research out of this elective.
My question: what do I do now? It will surely be good for my CV to have an elective there but is it worth it? I mean, plan was to try and also get a research position and apply for residency next year, i.e the 2013 match (still have my steps 2 and 3).

I would also want to know the answer form the other ones before I decide.

Should I call and tell them that?

Thanks a lot!

Warning! Grab the opportunity

Of course you should accept, go grab the opportunity, not everybody can get such a huge opportunity.

They will not accept you into their residency program but they will write you LoRs that can get you to hundreds of other programs.
