Question Varicella Vaccine Requirement before Elective

I haven't yet taken varicella vaccine nor ever had an infection of it .... I think there are two doses which require a month gap.... I have been trying to get into an elective this Sept. so is it enough that I take the first shot now and send application or should I wait 1 month... but I think I am already late..

Arrow Two points

Two points,

First, You cannot be 100% sure that you did not have the infection before, because some varicella infections go asymptomatic. So the ideal way is to test your self for antibody titre before taking vaccination. But if that's not available for you, then there's no harm in taking the vaccine (in fact the vaccine won't work as it will be neutralized by the antibodies that you have).

Second, you don't need to wait until the second shot. Just send them documentation that you took the first shot and they will be satisfied with that.
