Hey guys,
Im a little confused on this greenbook certified hospitals aka teaching hospitals.. When they say ACGME certified, is that for the specific rotation or the specific residency program?? And this certification is required only for about 13 states.. right?

Does it matter where I do my clinical rotations or is it important for me to do it at the ACGME (greenbook) certified hospital??

I have my rotations setup at Dekalb Medical Center in Decatur, GA.
I went on the ACGME website and could not find Dekalb listed on there except under Morehouse University hospital affiliation and thats for PEDs only...

and as for elective rotations, do they have to be ACGME certified too??

Thanks

Thanks Sabio for the quick reply.
I still have question on my clinical site that im going to start my rotations at.
I checked on the ACGME site and don't see Dekalb Medical Center (my clinical rotation site) on there. But I did see it affiliated under Morehouse University Hospital for the Pediatrics program only.

As im interested in Internal Medicine, wudnt this be problem???

My Carribean school has no other ACGME certified site for rotations. Any suggestions or recommendations on what I shud do now?

Your help is much appreciated.

Check with the senior colleagues from your Caribbean Medical School. As far as I know, you will definitely run into problems when you apply to residencies.

I am not sure of the list of States that can accept non Greenbook rotations. If you have them (with adequate reference) I'd appreciate if you start a new thread in this forum and list them.
