Thumbs Up

use kaplan lecture notes, they will give mnemonics for all DNA and RNA viruses and also for bacteria and other microbes.

jawetz microbiology is very useful ... try to study that if u have time. Its very useful to knw ---

each microbe -
their structure (also how to identify like using different in-vitro techniques) -
how they damage dna, rna or any other body organ, tissue etc -
lifecycle -
disease caused by them -
treatment

hey, just decode every thing in a simple way. just think about each micro organism and try to relate that to a wllknown thing in your environment. aha? they have personality. for example brucella = bruce lee make your own picmonics and a brief story for each. come on! don't shilly shally. just go on. make them fun.

make ur own flash cards.
First memorise the names of 38 bacteria.Similarly for others..fungi,parasites,viruses.Once u have the list in ur mind, associating common features, differentiating features becomes easy since u have a visual of all the names in ur mind.
Sit with ur study partner;make him suggest any organism name from ur flash card.U recollect imp features.Do this a number of times Ex.in ur break time, while eating snacks, taking shower.

Most of the times what happens is when we cant recollect the answer,we assume it to be something new.But when u know the names of every organism, its easy to narrow down coz it has to be one among those only. This familiarity gives a sense of confidence and ur approach sharpens.
