Default IMG with low step 1 score!! Please advice

I'm IMG with no green card, just graduated, got step 1 score with 208, i did 4 month research in US, 3 month observership, and will have 1 publication soon with U.S doctors in one of the top ranked hospitals, 2 LOR... pleease i need your honest openion at my situation.. Should i continue with step 2 CK and CS... im aiming for FM or IM...

IS THERE CHANCE FOR ME,,

they say >245 or 250 is the new 230 for imgs.
the software selects individuals based on step1 scores , step 2 scores , YOG , in that order. Your research / USCE come last , just adding weightageto your application keeping in mind your scores are high.
I think its not a good idea to proceed with plan A currently. Switch to Plan B if there are any !

what if I have no visa issues and I got good score in step 2, with one year research!! don't you think my chance will be higher since im not looking for competitive specialties.
