Stop Be careful

Dude,
Be careful.
FMG Portal reputation is very bad and most program directors they know that.
If you don't believe me just go to Google and start typing FM Portal you will see the suggestions in the drop down menu before you hit enter, the first suggestion from Google is FMG Portal Fraud! this means that thousands and perhaps millions have been searching for this keyword "FMG Portal Fraud".

This company is owned by a doctor who's name is Barry Mehta and he started this business after he was sentenced for stealing $125,000 from Medicaid. See this link
http://www.oag.state.md.us/Press/2003/0109a03.htm

The company realized that most people are aware of this so what they did, they changed their offices from Maryland (where their smell is everywhere) to Georgia / Atlanta.

I know that you are very angry with Americlerkships as I read your previous posts but that's not a justification that you support FMG portal.

This forum is read by thousands of poor IMGs like us everyday and if they read your announcement they may actually go and sign up with them and that can be a serious disaster for their future career.

I don't know, maybe they changed the managment or maybe they are now better than before but I am just telling (whole-heartedly) what I know about this company.

I think there is a misunderstanding here, every IMG has right to do proper investigation on whatever is posted and make informrd decision. While I am not routing for any company, of course, there are many reviews on the internet, the information you just posted is wrong. FMG Portal is not FMG Affordable, google the two and find out where the name of the Dr. you mentioned is associated with. Here is a posting of somebody who has benefited from their services:

Re: fmg portal.#726756 jessy - 04/02/07 12:55 Hi,
I did an externship with fmgportal. They did everything they said they would. Like u said it is in a clinic setting. No hospital exposure and they need lot of paper work like immunizations etc. The fees r not cheap either. The clinic i worked at only worked 4 days a week and a total of 20 hours a week. But i got two really good LORs from the doctors. But I think the LORs depend on the clinic you will get externship at.
In the end they did what they said. Got me LORs and I only did one month because if you read these so called fmg friendly list, most places ask for atleast 1 month USCE. So more than anything it improves the number of places you are eligible to apply. Hope this info helps"

I do read postings by others too and has gotten useful suggestions in making informed decisions. Being angry with americlerkship does not come in here at all. The information posted may not be useful to you but may help somebody else and not ruin them as you said.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your sincerity and honesty. We've been through a lot as IMGs, we need all the information we can get to help us through the USMLE Steps, residency and practice of medicine in the US. Best of luck to you and all members of the forum.
