Advertisement How to Score High in the Step 2 CK!

When I first started studying for the Step 2, I did not set out to achieve a mark of 250, but my aim was to score a high enough mark to match my specialty of choice.

My intention at the time was to go into Ophthalmology, one of the most competitive fields around. I finally did achieve a 244, and I interviewed for Ophthalmology. So, how did I do it?

USMLE Step 2 Edge 3rd edition-High yield review book for the Step 2 from an author who made high score on the Step 2 and wants to use his experience to help others.

Default How i know?

Thanks for your post but as you know most of IMGs use same trusted books for exams. So i would recommend if you can give a online version of your book just for 1 chapter. It will be great helpful.

Try Kindle edition of usmle step 2 edge 3rd edition. You can preview up to a chapter worth of information here. You can also get the whole kindle book for just $9.99 or $2.99 if you have purchased a print version before. Thats savings of 60-88 percent. Let me know if I have answered your question or if you have further questions.

Hi! Thank you so much for your help.
i am just about to start for the preparation for the CK exam. can you kindly guide me as to what all i should consider and not miss out on.

I am wanting to do Ophthalmology too! Since it is so competitive, do you know how much score is required in each of the steps to be able to get an interview for the Ophthalmology residency?

Thanking you once again!

Great! Ophthalmology is very competitive and so many US graduates compete for the same few positions. It is usually helpful to score as high as possible. When I applied it used to be that 95-99 score will guarantee an interview. However, it has been increasing from year to year. The average Step 1 score for those that matched into Ophthalology in 2013 was 239. There isnt a current average of those that matched into Step 2, but your Step 2 score should be higher than Step 1. As an IMG you should set a goal that is higher than the average. Goodluck!
