I don't think it is evaporating, it is a kind of a sideration I guess. It happens to me too, haha. As long as it is coming back while doing questions, the rest is unimportant So many things to fit in one brain! Keep faith, you are almost there!

I'd really recommend you do the Fred q's coz many ppl told me how useful they found it. And p.s. I think you not recollecting much is ABSOLUTELY normal. I faced this all throughout med school and face it now too. Just keep skimming through problematic areas and do Fred while you can.

Good luck, you'll do well, fingers crossed.

I dont think you have to reconfirm. But i actually called my centre just to confirm and they told me that yes you are scheduled for the test

10 minutes after block 3
20 minutes after block 4

10 minutes after block 6

Hey Everyone,

I received my exam results last wednesday and have been in not the best state of mind since then. Only brave enough to post today. Believe i'm still in a state of shock.

Unfortunately I did not pass and have had a hard time dealing with this outcome.

Regardless, I still want to congratulate those that passed.

The exam was a brutal one and perhaps my mind wasn't as focused as it should have been. It goes by really really fast. You really don't have much time to think for too long before answering.

I am disappointed to see that people are still trying to sell study materials to their fellow students instead of providing them free of charge as a common courtesy. Would recommend going to piratebay and searching for DIT & kaplan classroom anywhere 2014 where you can download them free.

Luckily I have some close friends who are helping me out with this exam result but in the end it is a personal test. Some of the most succesful people in life have failed and used that as an opportunity not a downfall to thrive and defy all odds. Names that come to mind are Michael Jordan & steve jobs. I am sure there are many more.

I have decided to retake the exam at a later date. Need some time to refocus first. Maybe get some medical treatment if necessary.

Want to thank you all who have given feedback and support and I want to wish you all the best in your exams.

Hey, JayMD, sorry to read that! Keep an high spirit and go back into the fight when you feel confortable taking it again! W. Churchill's quote says it all: "Success is not final, failure is not fatal it is the courage to continue that counts. ... "

Slacker, the free150 have 150 just the name, of maybe it is 150 in the simulation at prometric center I think. Online it is slightly less.

hello guys took the exam
i can say final things after i get the result
but i was expecting perhaps too difficult ques..might b thats why.. i found exam easy i was told to expect that i wont b knowing answers of few ques.. so yes,i had few anatomy ques, which i dint know.. i just chucked them n moved on.. questions werent more lengthy than nbme 16. level of difficulty was same as that also
2 or 3 heart sounds... 2 ecg... yes,i did mark 10 or some more ques every block... i had few repeats from 16 n fred ques... n i think i got a ques from 16 which i did wrong in nbme n i forgot in actual exam too... lol...
so guys,,who are next to go..jsut go over thr with confidence... i had oen thign in mind... i took it as if i am taking a mock exam.. touch wood... i dint get cold hands even on 1st ques with that thing in mind... i was so carefree that in evening ,wen it got cold..i went outside n requested to ask the guy to increase the temperature coz feelign cold... i was laughing with prometric ppl outside.. so i just took it as fun.. i dunno how i will score.. coz wen i completed nbme 16,i felt the same.. n i stil did few ques wrong on it..

lesson-- its easy..dont b scared.. keeping two things in mind..its jsut a mock test..n b prepred for few ques, that u wont know answer of.... these 2 helped me a lot n wil help u too
good luck guys

listen to blaufuss .. the sounds in exam are like that.. they give u carotid pulse..so u can see pulse rising .. so u know its systolic n diastolic sounds... u can practise at blaufuss... for exact idea, open the fred ques last 5 ques with audio/video.. over there, there is a ques or two for sounds..

i really dont remember if i heard it to just confirm my diagnosis .. for me,repression is at its best... i cant remember anythng :S but yes,it was easy.. i think one was mvp.... i guess.. now i can sort of remember.. hope i score well... fingers crossed...

ya step in with full confidence... keep in mind that staying calm will help u give ur best... so stay calm.i had my parents with me... n my bro was caling me again n again to keep me chilled,n all that helped me a lot . so do evrythng that wil help u to stay calm

they were simple ecg.. like tall t waves.. st elevation... i was so zero in background knowledge... so i googled how a st wave looks like elevated and depressed... just 2 or 3 ques for that... but if u are comfortable with nbme 16,u will definitely b fine in exam also... just that dont take difficult ques to heart... let it go ..

Good job, Singthesong! Congrats for being done! You make it look so easy and almost enjoyable, lol! What was your nbme 16 score? I still didn't took it but it seems it is a necessity to do so if there was some repeat questions... Did you get also pelvis questions and incontinence? Thx.

my nbme 16 was 251.. 10 days back.. umm 16 had repeats.. fred had also repeats... if u dont wanna assess urself... why dont u go thru ques just like that... that wil at least help u to not miss on sm ques.... imo..

yup,one or two pelvis ques.. i just chucked them... i had zero knowledge of anatomy n i was ready to let those ques go... incontinence.. one ques i guess

btw,... abt breaks.. i took 10 min break after 1st block... i wanted to make it 5 min.. but wen i came back,i got to know alredy 10 min have passed by.. so i realised that if i get out of my seat, for sure, ten min are gonna go
so after 2nd block,i just sat in the chair n looked at timer reduce to 5 min less
after that, after every block,10 min break
was left with 5 min at least.
took survey too.. i marked excellent for everythng..except that i had noise in my room.. coz one guy started coughing like mad.,in my 5th block.. n he just wudnt stop .. i had taken those in ear plugs, but i wasnt using them. he forced me to use those

also ,i took a pantoprazole before starting exam..like one hour before.. n sitting for so many hours gives me headache...so i took combiflam too.. had to take 2 combiflam in 8 hours.

oh,one more thing... dont forget to practise sitting for 8 hours at home.. to help u sit over thr for same time... good luck guys..

I want to thank slacker.mle, ramennoodles, singthesong and many others for their support after my results and also during my prep. Those kind deeds will never be forgotten. I owe you all a lot. Without a doubt in my mind, I know you will all become exceptional physicians and I look forward to working with you in rotations or residency or whatever may be in the future.

Apologize for the delayed response as I was seeking medical treatment via a psychiatrist (not my original plan but my family doctor recommended it).
I guess I'm almost back to being focused on my goal of becoming a physician no matter what it takes. Just need to find that fire within that gave me strength to reach my potential.

Look forward to conversing with you all.

Congrats for the awesome score, Singthesong, you deserve it! I was pretty sure you would score in this range, considering not a lot of people enjoy the day of the test as you did Well done! good luck for the rest of your journey!
