Drug Lithium can be used in pregnancy..

Uworld says that according to case control studies, lithium is not found to be a significantly teratogenic..it can be used in pregnancy although lamotrigine is the alternative..However it is advisable to perform echocardiography to exclude any possible anomalies..

For the purposes of usmle, so should we consider it contraindicated during pregnancy?

I think its considered FDA Category D, so use only in emergency. Otherwise C/I.

Yep, it's associated with an increased risk of Ebstein's anomaly if used during pregnancy, so for USMLE purposes I'd say it's C/I

Well even in general non pregnant patient, the TI of the drug is very narrow, so that should give us a hint as to being used normally for pregnancy considering it will pass through placenta.
