Default step 1 experience 07/2014

Hello, my friends,

I received the score today. I am an IMG.
6/8: UW stim 1: 263
6/18: form 7: 245
7/6: form 11: 243
7/14: UW stim 2: 265+
7/18: form 12: 249
7/21: form 13: 260
7/26: form 15+16: 260/264
7/31: step 1: 254

I did not sleep well, and the exam was more difficult than the NBME forms. I used UW qbank (100% completed), USMLERx (30% completed), FA2013, Pathoma videos and books, Goljan rapid review, some kaplan notes, medical ethics 100 cases etc.

The exam is doable. But it is difficult to score high (>260). Solute those 260ers.

Thank you very much.

I think I got used to the way NBME makes questions. I was surprised too.

In addition to review those mock exam questions, mainly FA, but still listened to pathoma.

Thanks. I did UW once, timed, test mode, divided by different disciplines. The cumulative rate was 75%. I planned to do it again, but did not make it. I think yours is great. UW qbank is not easy.

Everyone has a different plan. But NBME forms and FA are key. I wrote all UW notes in FA. I did all NBME forms online.
Thanks.

I like anatomy. Bbut I had 3 questions on pelvic/hip anatomy which I did not pay attention to. They were not in FA or UW. FA and UW cover most of it.

Interestingly some said they had a few question on insurance and health care policies. I did not have any of those. I even spent sometime reading the affordable healthcare act :-).

Thank you.
I used RR as a reference or a dictionary. But it would be great if you can go through it.

Thanks for the nice words.
I used 30% of usmle Rx. It helps you memorize FA. But I recommend to start UW as early as possible.
