I have been studying for this step exam since July and my exam is towards the end of September. What I don't understand is how everyone studies for this exam in 4-6 weeks and manage to do above average? Is there a trick or a certain study strategy that I am missing out on? My average on nbme right now is equivalent to a 200 on the actual usmle. I want to get my score above 230, but don't understand what more I can really do.

My study strategy:
Starting nbme was 177 usmle equivalent
I completed all of DIT and pathoma
Every other day I read a section of First AID
The other days I spend doing uworld questions in tutor mode on those particular topics read the previous day.
My most recent score was a 200 equivalent.

Is there anything more I should be doing? I have been targeting my weak spots when analyzing nbme. I just seem to always forget minor details such as modified smooth muscle cells of a glomus body for control of thermoregulation.

Please help. If you scored high on the nbme or actual usmle, please share your story and any advice you can give me
