You seem to be more in line for an internal medicine residency and then an intensive care. Since you already have experience in pulmonology.

There are many programs out there that do not put a bar on year of graduation. But the IM/EM are very competitive. Besides getting stellar scores like 230> you need good USCE and a strong LOR from an EM US doctor. That LOR is a requirement for all EM programs.

Hi
Medpack,I m more interested in doing IM than EM and pathology is also my option too...Can you pls tell me if I keep patho as my 2 option what are my chances and Do i need to HAVE USCE for getting into patho residendy...???N for IM how many LOR u suggest will be fine...m facing economic crunch, cant do observership more than 2 months and the reason m keeping patho as 2 option is almost same pay as IM and relatively stress free life..thank u in advance...

I cannot tell you what are your chances for every application is very different. And it varies by year, so by the time you would be applying, who knows how things are going to be.

For IM you usually need 3 LORs in order to apply to almost all programs. At least 1 from a US doctor.
